My darling little niece Georgia turned 5 on the weekend. Georgia lives in Ballina NSW so I wasn't there to celebrate with her and make her cake :O(
Georgia's Mummy (my SIL) came and saw me when I was in Sydney last week. We made these little 'funky figures' on my Planet Cake course so this went home with my SIL with strict instructions on how to put the cake together. I think I made my poor SIL sick with nerves with all my 'do's and don'ts'... but I think she did a fabulous job... maybe we have another cake decorator in the family!?
Happy Birthday Georgia... with loads of love from Aunty Kathryn xxxxx

Another cake maker in the family, I dont think so! I now have a new appreciation for 'cake creators'. I must admit Stephen and I did have alot of fun in putting the cake together and have a much better idea of what to do next time....what am I saying there will not be a next time ;)
I love the cake!!!
What on earth did you do to get the kit kat bars to stick?? Did you use buttercream??
I know this post is a bit old, but I am swiping this lolly cake idea to make cakes for my brother-in-law's and my nephew's birthdays. I am very 'novice' at all this though. Can I just ask, how far in advance can this cake be assembled? Will the chocolate or candy coating on the chocolate bleed if in contact with buttercream for too long?
I've only ever made (put together) this on the same day it was served. The night before would be fine.... just make sure you use a ribbon to hold the kit-kats together as this design does NOT travel well as the weight of the sweets inside will push the kit-kats apart :)
