Ruby's "Boots" Cake (Dora)

My gorgeous niece Ruby turned 2 today. She requested a "Boots" cake. For those of you without children or kiddos older than 5, Boots is a character from Dora The Explorer. I myself had to do some research!

Happy birthday sweet Ruby xxx

  1. Oh my! Did you sculpt Boots yourself? That cake looks absolutely amazing. My daughter had to settle for a homemade one-bowl chocolate cake! Nothing so gorgeous and elaborate!

  17. the cake is so cute that i squealed like a little girl when i came across your blog! : )

i was wondering if the fondant/gumpaste models (ex: mushrooms) were dried before you adhered them to the cake? did you use royal icing to glue them on?
